We were the first to adopt Virtual Classroom in order to offer public webinars lead by experts in the Education & Training sectors who shared expertise and best practices with the community through various topics in softskills, critical thinking & creativity in addition to the Teaching & Learning best practices using learning technologies.
The word itself; “eThraa Contest” is an Arabic word which means “Enrichment”. The goal of the eThraaContest is to reward quality, pedagogically sound, online educational content, designed in Arabic, by Arabic speaking teachers. This Award plays the catalyst role which shows the impact of the weekly public webinars that the Arab Academy offers on the skills and knowledge of the members.
Our first Massive Open Online Courses was launched. 885 participants joined the course titled (Facilitating and Managing Virtual Classrooms) with a completion rate of 9% - The course introduced the Arabic Learner to the very new concept of MOOCs and how it works by being engaged in it as students
